THE MISSION

“The magic of theatre has fascinated me since I was a child; growing up, I fell hopelessly in love with it, and now I can’t live without it. With the eyes and the enthusiasm of that child, today I dedicate my energy and attention to the daily work of my Foundation, creating valuable relationships and contacts between artists and different cultures.”

OUR COMMITMENT
Our mission is to support the growth of young artists and promote cultural development for the benefit of the community. Since its inception, the Foundation has organized calls for proposals to support young theatre companies in their research and creation phases.

At the same time, we organize festivals and cultural events for the general public, aiming to make art an accessible resource for all.
Origins
Fondazione Claudia Lombardi per il teatro was founded in 2016 out of its founder’s desire to do something tangible for theater and the arts in our region, her lifelong passions. In 2018, she decided to purchase the former youth hostel in Lugano-Figino, a historic building dating back to the early 1800s, transforming it into a space for artistic creation, theatrical research, and a venue for cultural meetings and events.
The cultural program

Through the cultural and artistic program, we aim to offer young artists concrete opportunities to present their work, often unpublished, to the public; promote new dramaturgy projects; create opportunities for meeting and dialogue between creators and audiences; and stimulate, through theater and art, reflections on contemporary issues.
