The season, To Illuminate the World, is born from the desire to reconnect with beauty and humanity. In one of his most famous works, Tennessee Williams has one of his characters say:“Such things as art – as poetry and music – such kinds of new light have come into the world since then! In some kinds of people some tendered feelings have had some little beginning! That we have got to make grow! And cling to, and hold as our flag! In this dark march towards what-ever it is we’re approaching . . . Don’t – don’t hang back with the brutes!“.

And so, the greater the desolation that surrounds us, the more this flag must be waved forcefully, as a beacon of hope for tomorrow. Today more than ever, theatre cannot be a refuge in which to isolate ourselves, but must present itself as a space for transformation, where imagination is not escapism but a transformative force capable of generating collective change. The journey of this theatre season unfolds as a call not to give up, an invitation to respond to ugliness with beauty, to uncertainties with the opportunity for rediscovery, and to shadows with an inexplicable enthusiasm.

Every performance in the 2024/2025 season represents a step in a journey where delicate humanity opposes the violence of the world it inhabits.
