COLLABORATIONS
The goal of the Fondazione Claudia Lombardi per il teatro is to build bridges between culture, art, and the community. Through collaborations with academic institutions, cultural associations, and public and private organizations, the Foundation fosters intercultural dialogue, supports young talent, and promotes inclusive projects. Each partnership is an opportunity to highlight theatre as a tool for personal and collective growth, strengthening the connection between the local community and the artistic scene.
Caritas Ticino
The Fondazione Claudia Lombardi per il teatro participates in the initiative promoted by Caritas: all holders of the KulturLegi (CartaCultura) can attend all performances in our theatre season for free by presenting their card at the box office. The CartaCultura promotes the integration of people affected by poverty into society and helps prevent social isolation. With the personal pass, holders receive reduced or free access to culture, sports, education, and healthcare. Eligibility extends to adults, youth, and children who are living at or below the subsistence level.
AG CULTURA
The Foundation participates in the AG cultura project: holders of the AG cultura subscription can attend all new playwriting performances for free, subject to reservation via email. AG cultura is an initiative dedicated to young people under 26, providing free access to over 10,000 concerts, exhibitions, festivals, films, and performances. For just 100 Swiss francs, this pass opens the doors to more than 360 partner venues in the cantons of Bern, Fribourg, Jura, Neuchâtel, and Valais for 365 days. And from 2025, also in Ticino!
Accademia Teatro Dimitri
Since 2023, the Foundation has maintained a close collaboration with the Accademia Teatro Dimitri. Each year, it awards an artistic residency prize, granting one of the newly graduated students a week-long residency. Additionally, with the aim of providing space and visibility to young aspiring artists from our region who are about to enter the world of live performance, the Foundation dedicates the first day of the summer gARTen festival annually to the Academy’s alumni.
SUPSI - University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland
SUPSI continues to be close to the Foundation’s activities with the degree program in Leisure Management…, which has identified the Fondazione Claudia Lombardi per il teatro as a practical training site for its students. In 2021 and 2025, the Foundation was selected for a field project for second-year students, and in 2023 it hosted a graduating student for an internship.
PREMIO Schweiz
The Foundation is a member of PREMIO Schweiz, which annually selects and supports eight projects by Swiss theater and dance companies. By engaging in interregional cooperation, it aims to connect them to a strong network with more than 50 independent theaters and festivals. In addition to taking part in the selection committee, the Foundation welcomes several of the selected projects to artistic residency.
FIT - Festival internazionale di teatro e della scena contemporanea
The collaboration with the FIT (Festival internazionale di teatro e della scena contemporanea) continues, thanks to which members of the Friends of Càsoro Association, which supports and promotes the Foundation’s activities, are entitled to discounts on tickets. The benefits are mutual, and FIT card holders can purchase tickets for our season at a discounted price.
Teatri Riflessi, sponsored by IterCulture.
Since 2023, we have been collaborating with Teatri Riflessi, an international short theatre competition held annually in the province of Catania, based on shared goals and alignment of mission and values. The Foundation serves as a member of the jury. During the 2024 edition, the Foundation awarded the Fondazione Claudia Lombardi per il teatro prize to two of the competition’s finalist projects: No, by Annalisa Limardi, and Tecniche di lavoro di gruppo, by Dimore Creative, both featured in the 2025 new playwriting program.
Corriere del Ticino Group
For the staff of the Corriere del Ticino Group, our valuable media partner that has always supported our activities, the Foundation will, starting in 2024, offer tailored corporate training and team-building programs.
City of Lugano
On the occasion of the 2022 edition of Lugano al femminile, a week promoted by the City of Lugano dedicated to women, the Foundation conducted a series of internal training sessions. From 2023 these training programs have been included in the continuing education catalog offered by the City to its employees.
Art Happening, promoted by OtherMovie Lugano Film Festival
OtherMovie Lugano Film Festival is a film festival held in Lugano, distinguished by its focus on cinema as a tool for intercultural dialogue and social reflection. The festival highlights works that address issues such as human rights, cultural diversity, environmental sustainability, and social change, promoting films that explore realities often underrepresented in mainstream circuits. Sharing these values, the Foundation has, from 2019 to 2024, hosted the Art Happenings—the festival’s closing events—within its spaces.
Il Maggiolino Festival, promoted by Teatro Pan
A traditional appointment for the community, Il Maggiolino, a festival organized by Teatro Pan in Lugano, offers moments of encounter designed to foster family and social cohesion through the organization of artistic activities for all age groups. On the occasion of the 2024 edition, the Foundation hosted one of its theater events in its park.
Associazione Avventuno
In the summer of 2022, the Fondazione Claudia Lombardi per il teatro organized an inclusive summer camp in collaboration with Avventuno, an association that has long supported families of people with Down syndrome. The week was dedicated to children aged 6 to 10, both with and without cognitive disabilities, and featured a variety of workshops in theatre, visual arts, yoga, and music, led by professional artists, trainers, and educators, allowing participants to experience the joy of creativity in a welcoming, playful environment.
Special Schools of Sottoceneri
From our desire for an inclusive theatre that can break down all kinds of barriers, a partnership with the Special Schools of Sottoceneri was born in the 2021/2022 school year. Diario di una classe brings some students from the Special School to the stage and is an attempt to convey, through images, words, and thoughts, a journey filled with questions about emotions, dreams, and fears.
Municipality of Morcote
The Foundation’s goal is not only to bring people to the theatre, but to bring theatre to the people: with this aim, in May 2022 we presented a family-friendly performance in the stunning setting of the Parco Scherrer in Morcote.
Hotel De La Paix
The RoomTheatre event organized by the Claudia Lombardi Foundation for Theater comes out from its walls in April 2022 to inhabit the spaces of the Hotel De La Paix in Lugano and bring to life a traveling theater show that engages spectators in an immersive experience, combining performance art and a food and wine trail.
Karakorum Teatro
Karakorum Teatro is a theatre company based in Varese that develops cultural and dramaturgical projects with a strong focus on community engagement and the enhancement of local areas. IN 2019 and 2020 the Foundation hosts Vasi Comunicanti, an initiative that explores the life of border communities, particularly between Italy and Canton Ticino. This format aims to rediscover the social, economic, and cultural value of border areas, presenting them as spaces of connection and exchange rather than division. The project involves artists, citizens, and local institutions, generating a significant cultural and community impact.
